As stated in the Massachusetts State Guidelines on Farmers’ Market; No: RF-08: “While there is no regulatory definition for farmers’ markets, the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (DAR) defines them as: “public markets for the primary purpose of connecting and mutually benefiting Massachusetts farmers, communities, and shoppers while promoting and selling products grown and raised by participating farmers.”
