The mission of the Cape Cod Citizen Corps Council is to harness the power of every individual through education, training and volunteer service to make Cape Cod safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds.

The Cape Cod Citizen Corps Council is comprised of representatives of various Citizen Corps component and affiliate programs in Barnstable County. The Cape Cod Citizen Corps Council is working to promote citizen involvement in various programs and develop a peer-to-peer network of program coordinators. The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office through the Office of Intergovernmental Relations/Citizen Corps is the host agency to the CC CCC. BCSO organizes regional training opportunities, shares best practices, and provides technical assistance to program managers. The Barnstable County Department of Health & Environment works in partnership with the BC Sheriff’s Office by facilitating monthly CC CCC meetings and coordinating their public education events and projects
